سَبغتْ نِعمةٌ ودام صفاءُ

ووقاك الحوادثَ الأكْفاءُ

Blessings have been bestowed and serenity endures

And calamities that destroy have protected you

يا ابن من جلَّ أمره وأجلَّتْـ

ـهُ ولاةُ العهود والخلفاءُ

O son of the one whose command is sublime and whom

Rulers of dynasties and caliphs have honored

لم يُصَفِّ الدواءُ جسمَك إلا

عن صفاءٍ كما يكون الصفاءُ

No remedy has purified your body

Except purity as purity itself can be

فلأعدائك البشاعةُ منه

ولك النفعُ دونهم والشفاءُ

So for your enemies there is ugliness in it

While for you there is benefit, healing, and restoration

أسقط المدحَ فيك أن لم يُبِنْ منـ

ـك خفياً وهل بصبحٍ خفاءُ

I have omitted praise of you if it hasn't shown

In secret, and does praise hide at dawn?

فالبس العفو والمُعافاة ثوباً

وعلى الكارهينَ ذاكَ العَفاءُ

So wear forgiveness and pardoning as a garment

And over those who hate you let that be a cloak

ووقاكَ الإلهُ ما تتوقَّى

في بقاءٍ للنفس فيه اكتفاءُ

And may God protect you from what

You fear, in an existence where the soul finds contentment

فُوكَ مَجْنى حِجاً ووجهك شمسٌ

ويميناك مُزنةٌ وَطْفاءُ

May your refuge be the Sacred House on hajj, your face a sun

Your right hand holds the scales, dispensing justice
