1. نسيم الصَبا حيّا الندامى من الزهرِ

    براح الندى صِرْفاً فمالوا من السكرِ

    The morning breeze greeted the repentant with flower scent

    With the breeze of dew, so they swayed from sweetness

  2. تُنقِّش كف الغصن في الروض عندما

    تجلت عروسُ الراح في الحلل الخضرِ

    It etched the palm of the branch in the garden when

    The bride of the wind appeared in green garments

  3. وفيِ الروض أمسى الجلنار كأنه

    مباخر تبرٍ عودُها طيِّب النشر

    And in the garden, the oleander was as if

    It was aromatic aloes wood, its incense goodly dispersed

  4. وحاكى السما لما صفا ماءُ جدول

    وفيه خيال الزهرِ كالأنجم الزهر

    And the sky emulated when the water of the stream was clear

    And in it the reflection of flowers like shining stars

  5. تراقصتِ الأشجار والريح قد غدا

    يشبِّب لما صفّق الماء في النهر

    The trees swayed and the wind had become

    Flirtatious when the water clapped in the river

  6. وأمسى المسا والغيم للبدر حاجب

    وإشراف شمس الراح يغني عن البدر

    And the evening and the clouds became a veil for the moon

    And the rising of the breeze's sun made the moon unnecessary

  7. عروس بدتْ من دَنها وهي تنجلي

    كما تنجلي بِكر الزفاف من الخدر

    A bride appeared from her tent as she shone

    As a virgin bride shines shaking off her sluggishness

  8. تَوقَّد في الكاسات نور شعاعها

    ومن عجب ماء توقَّد كالجمر

    In the goblets a light of her rays was kindled

    And it is wondrous how water was kindled like embers

  9. يطوف بها ساقٍ كحيلٌ عيونه

    تناجي كليمَ الشوق بالغُنْج والسحر

    Around her stalks a gazelle, its eyes

    Converse with the confidant of passion using amorousness and magic

  10. غزال رمتْ بالنبل أهدابُ جفنه

    وكم صادتِ الآسادَ بالشَرك الشَّعر

    A gazelle whose eyelash arrows shot

    And how many prey the lionesses caught with the hair trap

  11. إذا ما بدا كالصبح فَرْقُ جبينه

    دعوت على عين العواذل بالفجر

    When the separation of his forehead appeared like the dawn

    I called for the eyes of the charmers to awake at dawn
