يقولون ما لا يفعلون مسبّةً

من الله مسبوبٌ بها الشعراءُ

They say what they do not do, accusing

The poets of being accursed by God for it.

وما ذاكَ فيهم وحدَه بل زيادةٌ

يقولون ما لا يفعلُ الأمراءُ

Yet that is not only found among them - no, it is more

Common still that rulers say what they do not do.
