  1. أُحبُّ المِهْرَجانَ لأنَّ فيهِ

    سروراً للملوكِ ذوي السَناءِ

    I love the festival, for in it

    Is joy for eminent kings

  2. وباباً للمصير إلى أوانٍ

    تُفتَّح فيه أبوابُ السماءِ

    And a gateway to a time

    When the gates of heaven open

  3. أُشبِّههُ إذا أَفضَى حميداً

    بإفضاءِ المَصيفِ إلى الشتاءِ

    When it turns out well, I compare it

    To the turning of summer into winter

  4. رجاءَ مؤمِّليكَ إذا تناهَى

    بهم بعد البلاءِ إلى الرخاءِ

    The hope of your expectant ones, when

    After affliction, wellbeing comes to them

  5. فَمَهرِجْ فيه تحت ظلال عيشٍ

    ممدَّدةٍ على عيشٍ فضاءِ

    So revel in it under the shade

    Of an extended living upon a spacious living

  6. أخا نِعَمٍ تتمُّ بلا فناءٍ

    إذا كان التمامُ أخا الفناءِ

    A brother of bounty completed without vanishing

    If completion is the brother of vanishing

  7. يزيدُ اللَّه فيها كلَّ يومٍ

    فلا تنفكُّ دائمةَ النَّماءِ

    God increases in it, each day

    So it does not cease, ever growing

  8. ويُصْحبُك الإلهُ على الأَعادي

    مساعدةَ المَقادرِ والقضاءِ

    And God accompanies you against enemies

    Helping the decrees and destiny

  9. شهدتُ لقد لهوتَ وأنت عفُّ

    مصونُ الدِّين مبذولُ العطاءِ

    I bear witness, you were inspired and you were chaste

    Protected of religion, bestowing generosity

  10. تَغَنَّتك القيانُ فما تغنَّتْ

    سوى محمولِ مدحِك من غِناءِ

    The singers sang you, they sang nothing

    Other than what your praise inspired them to sing

  11. وأحسَنُ ما تغنّاك المغنِّي

    غناءٌ صاغَهُ لك من ثناءِ

    And the best song the singer sang you

    Was a song forged for you from praise

  12. كَمُلْتَ فلستُ أسألُ فيك شيئاً

    يَزيدُكَهُ المَليكُ سوى البقاءِ

    You are complete, so I ask nothing more of you

    Other than that the King keeps you enduring

  13. وبعدُ فإنّ عذري في قصوري

    عن الباب المحجَّب ذي البهاءِ

    And afterwards, my excuse for my shortcoming

    From the veiled, splendid door

  14. حدوثُ حوادثٍ منها حريقٌ

    تَحيَّف ما جمعت من الثراءِ

    Is the occurrence of events, including a fire

    That destroyed what I had gathered of wealth

  15. فلم أسألْ له خَلَفاً ولكنْ

    دعوتُ اللَّه مجتهدَ الدعاءِ

    So I did not ask for compensation, but

    I called on God, insistent in supplication

  16. ليجعَلَه فداءَك إنْ رآه

    فداءك أيها الغالي الفداءِ

    To make it a sacrifice for you, if He sees

    It a sacrifice for you, O precious sacrifice

  17. وأما قبلَ ذاك فلم يكن لي

    قَرارٌ في الصباح ولا المساءِ

    As for before that, I had no

    Peace in the morning or the evening

  18. أعاني ضيعةً ما زلتُ منها

    بِحمدِ اللَّه قِدْماً في عناءِ

    I suffered losses from which, by God's grace

    I advanced step by step in hardship

  19. فرأيَك مُنعِماً بالصفحِ عنِّي

    فما لي غيرَ صفحِك من عَزاءِ

    So I saw you bestowing forgiveness upon me

    For I have no solace but your forgiveness

  20. ولا تعتب عليَّ فداك أهلي

    فتُضعِفَ ما لقيتُ من البلاءِ

    And do not reproach me, your sacrifice are my family

    For that would increase what I endured of affliction
