أنا واش بسوء حالي إليكا
طال تَشنيعُها برغمي عليكا
I come to you with my wretched state
Its vilification has long burdened me because of you
كلما قلتُ فيك قولاً جميلاً
ناقَضتْهُ وردعُهُ في يديكا
Whenever I say something nice about you
You contradict it, and restrain it with your hands
ولما ذاكَ بالعقاب ولكن
بالثواب الذي يُرجَّى ليدكا
And why is that with punishment, but rather
With the reward expected from your hands
قد تَصرَّفْتُ في نَواحٍ من الأرْ
ضِ فرَدَّتني النواحِي إليكا
I have wandered in parts of the earth
Yet all directions lead me back to you
