O poet who praises them in the evening

In the worst of eras, the worst of times

You do not deserve reward for defying them

And accusing them of lies and aggression

A people who are reminded of others’ virtues

    See in themselves every flaw

And when you praise them, you open for them

A door of regrets and sorrows

A man who offered them praise did wrong

Then sought reward for his good deed

In sorrow he asks back what he gave them

Truly, they exceeded in injustice and enmity
