    فجزاهُ ربُّ الناسِ دارَ كرامتِهْ

    Our emir’s conquests have grown many and followed one another;

    so may the Lord of humankind reward him with the abode of His honor.

    He never ceases consoling our caliphs

    for a province lost, while congratulating them on his safety.

    There is no conquest but one like this—and for one like him,

    the conquest of conquests, through his might and inviolable dignity:

    I farted—like silk being torn—and deposited my excrement

    upon his two side-whiskers and in the partings of his crown.
