سقى الله قصراً بالرصافة شاقني

بأعلاه قصري الدلال رصافي

May God send rain upon a palace at al-Rusafa that stirred my longing;

at its summit, a Rusafan, courtly in coquetry.

أشار بقضبان من الدر قُمِّعَت

يواقيت حمراً تستبيح عفافي

He gestured with rods of pearl, capped

with red rubies that violate my chastity.
