1. يَمَّنَ اللَّهُ طلْعَةَ الموْلُودِ

    وَحَبَا أَهْلَه بطول السعودِ

    God blessed the birth of the newborn

    And granted his family long prosperity

  2. فهُمُ الضَّامِنون حين تَوَالَى

    مُنْسِيَاتُ العهودِ حِفظَ العهودِ

    They are the guarantors whenever forgotten pacts are renewed

    And preservers of pacts

  3. والأُلى إن رعَوْا حَلُوبةَ مَجْدٍ

    لأُولي الأمْر لم تكن بجدُود

    If the exalted act virtuously, majesty was never hard on them

    Let one say to the generous-chested

  4. فلْيَقُلْ قائل لذي الصَّدَر الْمَيْـ

    ـمون منْهُمْ في أَمْرِهِ والورود

    They find solace in his command and gifts

    God blessed the gifted one with gifts

  5. أَمْتَعَ اللَّه ذو المواهب بالموْ

    هُوبِ غَيْرِ الْمُخَسَّسِ المنْكُودِ

    Unstinting gifts are never lessened

    Like the full moons of commendable lineage

  6. بَدْرُ طَلْقٍ وشَمْسُ دَجْنٍ من الأمْـ

    ـلاَكِ جاءا بكوْكَب مَسْعودِ

    Who arrived with a blessed star

    A visitor who came to wipe out hatred

  7. وَافِدٌ زار مُستماحي وفود

    مُرْتجىً منه مُستَمَاحُ وُفُودِ

    Whose friendship is hoped for by all who visit

    May God protect him from the unseen adversity

  8. سَلَّهُ اللّه للخطوب من الغَيْـ

    ـبِ كَسَلِّ المهنَّدِ الْمغْمُودِ

    Like the polished Indian sword in its sheath

    In him is nobility and dignity, prepared

  9. فيه عُرْفٌ وفيه نُكْرٌ مُعَدّا

    نِ لأهل النُّهى وأهْل المُرُودِ

    For the people of resolve and conviction

    And the spark lies hidden in the firewood

  10. وكمينُ الحريق في العُودِ مُخْفَىً

    وحَقِينُ الرَّحيقِ في العُنْقُودِ

    While the quintessence is in the buds

    His star rose purely white

  11. نَجَلَتْهُ بيضاءُ من مَلِكَاتِ الـ

    ـروم تُدْعَى لقيْصَرٍ معْبُودِ

    From the queens called the adored Caesars

    On Wednesday night which of the days

  12. ليلةَ الأربعاء وهو من الأيـ

    ـيامِ يومٌ ما شئتَ من محمودِ

    Is as blessed as you wish

    It was inauspicious for Thamud and Aad

  13. كان نحساً على ثَمُودَ وعَادٍ

    وسُعُوداً لصالحٍ ولهودِ

    And fortunate for the righteous

    The evil in it for the disbelieving Aad

  14. فالذي فيه إنْ نَظَرْنَا من الشَّر

    رِ لِعادٍ بكُفْرها وثمودِ

    Is countered for us, their foes

    It is the day of victory for the Abbasids

  15. ولَنا خَيْرُهُ وذِرْوةُ مَنْجَا

    هُ لأَنَّا أضْدَادُ أهل العُنودِ

    When God established their rule

    And the rise of the newborn heralds

  16. وَهْوَ يومُ المظَفَّرينَ بني العبـ

    ـباس سَقيْاً لِظِلِّه الممدودِ

    Joy and bliss for his family

    Binding their affair to the Abbasids

  17. يومُ صدْقٍ بَنَتْ يَدُ اللّه فيه

    مُلْكَهُمْ فوق رأسه الموطودِ

    With the strongest of covenants

    Clarifying so his features expose

  18. وطلُوعُ المولود فيه بشَيرٌ

    بسرورٍ لأَهْله مولودِ

    A magnificent likeness of his image

    House of Wahb, triumph for you is

  19. عاقِدٌ أمْرَهُمْ بأمر بني العبـ

    ـباس عَقْداً من مُحْكَمَات العُقُودِ

    Solomon and setback for the jealous failures

    The insight of the noble horseman is revealed

  20. مُفْصِحٌ فأْلُهُ يُخَبِّرُ عنْ أز

    رٍ بأَزْر من شَكْله مشدودِ

    His claim supported by witnesses

    And so you have signs that speak of you

  21. آلَ وَهْبٍ فوزاً لكُم بِسُلَيْمَا

    نَ وكبتاً للحاسد المَفْئُودِ

    In assemblies, not those of the neglected

    Pure breds stemming from pure breds

  22. قَدْ بَدَا في فِرَاسَةِ الفارس الطَّا

    لع يُمْنٌ دعْوَاهُ ذاتُ شُهُودِ

    Like them, not from misbred horses

    Rising as stars and ascending as full moons

  23. وكذا أنتُم لَكُم أَمَرَاتٌ

    يَتَكَلَّمْنَ عَنْكُمُ في المُهُودِ

    In a consistent, measured order

    Your ancestors died but you revived them

  24. طَلَعتْ منْهُ غُرَّةٌ كَسَنا الفجْـ

    ـرِ وسيما كالمخْلَصِ المنْقُودِ

    In hearts, not in tombs

    They cannot be removed from a soul’s thoughts

  25. ثُمَّ سمَّاهُ باسْمِه سَيِّدُ السَّا

    داتِ غيْرَ المدافع المَجْحُودِ

    Despite their benevolence

    Let no critic measure you against a people

  26. وقضَى اللّه أنْ يكون سَمِيّاً

    وكَنِيّاً لجَدِّه المَجْدودِ

    For the nonexistent cannot equal the existent

    People declined into beastliness unwillingly

  27. لسُلَيْمَانَ وهْوَ في آل وهب

    كَسُلَيْمانَ في بني داودِ

    While you declined into humanity by choice

    How many detested ones have you repelled from the king’s love

  28. وَقَع اسْمٌ من السلامة والسِّلـ

    ـمِ عليه وُقُوعَ لا مَقْصُودِ

    And how many of your haters go unnoticed by you

    The soldiers take pride in war exploits

  29. بَلْ حَدَتْهُ إليهِ حَادِيَة الحظ

    ظِ حُدَاءَ ابنِ قَفْرَةٍ بقَعُودِ

    While your deeds are pride itself

    Just as the Jews boast of Moses

  30. يَا لَكَ ابْناً ووَالِدَيْنِ وجَدَّيْـ

    ـنِ يُرَوْنَ الجبالَ في أخْدُودِ

    Who belongs to the Muslims, not the Jews

    How much wisdom and strategy you possess

  31. لحقوا بالكواكب الزُّهْرِ والعَيـ

    ـيُوقُ نائي المَنالِ منْ هَبُّودِ

    That picks perfect ripe fruits

    I have said a true saying that will heal

  32. خَيْرُ جُرْثُومَةٍ وأنضْرُ فَرعٍ

    بين هَذِي وذاكَ أنْجَبُ عُودِ

    Every chronic complainer

    I have reassured the anxious that the House of Wahb

  33. ذلكَ العُودُ قاسمٌ كَرُمَ العُو

    دُ ومَرْسى العُرُوقِ غير الصَّلُودِ

    Never sleeps during hardships

    And the sleepers awoke in gratitude, so the nation

  34. فهو يَهْتَزُّ فوق مَنْصِبِه المَمْ

    هُودِ في ظلِّ فَرْعِهِ اليَمْئودِ

    Must thank those who stayed up late

    A bolster, a bounty for the supported

  35. ولهذا المولود تالٍ من الحُر

    رِةِ إنَّ الرُّكُوعَ فحْوَى السُّجودِ

    Whose loyalty is reciprocated

    The state of the generous was guarded by the House of Wahb

  36. وكأنْ قد أتى الحسيْنُ بشيراً

    باتِّصالِ الفُتُوح بعد السُّدودِ

    Rescuers of the helpless and tired

    A state whose narcissus and roses returned

  37. فاسْتُتِمَّتْ يدٌ من الله بَيْضا

    ءُ لبيضاءَ من يديه رَفُودِ

    To its meadows and bushes

    It remedied all corruption and unrest

  38. وغدا الصَّقْر ناهضاً بِجَنَاحَيْـ

    ـنِ إلى كلِّ مرقب ذي كُؤُودِ

    With soldiers of wisdom, not troops

    It opened clear conquests for the prince

  39. بل غَدَا السيفُ بين حدَّيْهِ عَضْباً

    غيْرَ ذي نَبْوَةٍ ولا محدودِ

    Every door in his realm once shut

    O Prince, God clothed you in eternal life

  40. بل غدا الطَّودُ بين ركنين منْهُ

    مشْرفاً رُكْنُه مُنِيفَ الرُّيُودِ

    Not that which is lost and gone

    You are the sea and the House of Wahb are clouds

  41. بَلْ بدا البدر بين سعدين لا يُجْـ

    ـهَلُ عنْد الذَّكِيِّ والمبْلُودِ

    The sea was beautified by the clouds

    They immortalized the realm for it is eternal

  42. لا عَقِمْتُمْ يا آلَ وهب فما الدُّنْ

    يا لقوم أمثالِكُم بوَلُودِ

    Not like the realm of the ungrateful

    And this is deserved when strategy triumphs

  43. كلُّكُمْ ماجِدٌ ولم يُرَ فيكم

    ماجدٌ قَطُّ ذُو أبٍ مَمْجُودِ

    And lasting glory is achieved

    No structure built by the House of Wahb relies

  44. أنْصُلٌ يُنْتَضَيْنَ من أنْصُلٍ بيـ

    ـضٍ كأمْثَالِهِنَّ لا من غُمُودِ

    On frail wood, all are strongly founded

    The House of Wahb are people of integrity and purpose

  45. وبُدُورٌ طوالعٌ من بدورٍ

    وشموسٍ لا من دَياجيرَ سودِ

    Gentle yet stern when appropriate

    Their spears made them not crave other provisions

  46. تَنْجَلِي أنْجُماً وتعْلو بدوراً

    في نظامٍ مُتَابَعٍ مَسْرُودِ

    Hunters, not predator wolves

    When office entitlements were not usurped from the burdened and weak

  47. مات أسلافُكُمْ فأنْشَرْتُمُوهُمْ

    فهُمُ في القلوب لا في اللُّحُودِ

    They judged rightly, not falsely

    They are rain in people and lightning in foes

  48. لا يَحِلُّونَ مِن خواطر نفسٍ

    مَعَ إحسانهم مَحِلَّةُ مُودِي

    And in every place, thunder

    Sometimes displaying lightning

  49. لاَيَقِيسَنَّ قائسٌ بِكُمُ قَوْ

    ماً فليس المعْدُوم كالموْجُودِ

    Other times threatening thunder

    Though they threaten, they melt into tolerance

  50. نزل الناسُ بالتَّهَائم كَرْهاً

    ونزلْتُمْ برغمهم في النُّجُودِ

    Until the time comes for might

    How many threats have they that melted into kindness

  51. كم مَذُودٍ بكَيْدِكُمْ عن حِبا المُلْـ

    ـكِ وما مُعْتَفيكُمُ بِمَذُودِ

    Like the promised rains after drought

    How many threats did they counter with courage

  52. يفخر الجندُ بالمناقِب والأعْـ

    ـمَالُ أعمالُكُمْ فَخَارَ عَنُودِ

    Refusing trespass of sanctities

    They rose high though men slept

  53. مِثْلَ ما تفْخَرُ اليهودُ بموسى

    وهْوَ للمسلمين دونَ اليهودِ

    Rose among the noble despite indignity

    If they win the race against all opponents

  54. وكأيِّنْ لحيلةٍ ولِرَأيٍ

    مُحْصَدٍ من مُحَيَّنٍ مَحْصُودِ

    With joyous efforts and zeal

    Their brother empowered them so tremendously

  55. ولقد قلتُ قوْلَ صدق سيشفي

    صِدْقُه كلَّ مُدْنَفٍ معْمُودِ

    You would think the winds chained

    The realm’s pillar made his feet comfortable

  56. أرْقَدَ السَّاهِرين أنَّ بني وهْـ

    ـبٍ عن النائباتِ غيْرُ رُقُودِ

    In a lofty, unshakable position

    The soul’s ambition, the self’s desire

  57. واسْتَهَبَّ الرُقودُ للشكر فالأمـ

    ـمَةُ من ذي تَهَجُّدٍ أو هُجُودِ

    Is to meet every journey’s end

    The holder of hands upon all, whom

  58. عَضُدٌ فَعْمَةٌ لمعْتَضِدٍ بالـ

    ـلَهِ بالنُّصْحِ منْهُمُ مَعْضُودِ

    All chieftains and princes orbit

    Among them is Qasim, a worthy descendant

  59. حُرسَتْ دولةُ الكِرام بني وهْـ

    ـبٍ غِياثِ اللَّهيف والمنْجُودِ

    Numbered with the descendants

    He served the realm judiciously

  60. دولةٌ عاد نرْجِسُ الروْضِ فيها

    من عُيُون وَوَرْدُهُ من خُدُودِ

    Drawing his sharpened sword and speedy steed

    The eye’s aim does not turn from him

  61. أصْلَحَتْ كلَّ فاسِدٍ مُتَمَادٍ

    بِجُنُودِ الدَّهَاء لا بالجنودِ

    To another, nor the soul’s will to blame

    His prince chose him, and treated him

  62. فتحتْ للأميرِ فتْحاً مُبيناً

    كلَّ بابٍ في مُلْكه مسدودِ

    Like the flowing brooks, pure and cool

    And granted us his help, reviving

  63. أيُّهذا الأميرُ ألبسك اللَـ

    ـهُ بقاءَ الموْجود لا المفقودِ

    With gifts building upon gifts

    Ask about Abu Hussein, dawn shone

  64. أنت بحرٌ وآلُ وهب مُدُودٌ

    عُمِّرَ البحْرُ مُمْتَعاً بالمُدُودِ

    Sufficing without a spark in the fuel

    A delighted soul’s bliss, our Lord bereft us

  65. أبَّدُوا الملْكَ فهو ملكُ خُلودٍ

    لا كعهدِ الكفُورِ مُلْكُ بُيُودِ

    Though it be with one absent

    His soul is pure, and his manners adorned him

  66. وجديرٌ بذاكَ ما اسْتُعْمِلَ الرأ

    يُ ويُمْنُ الجدود ذات الصُّعُودِ

    As smooth as the polished chain

    The most delicious wine is from one

  67. ما بِناءٌ بُنَاتُهُ آلُ وهبٍ

    بِوَضِيع الذُّرَا ولا مَهْدُودِ

    Pure of eyes and chaste of companions

    You will not find the hopeful Qasim

  68. آلُ وهبٍ قوم لَهُمْ عِفَّةُ المغْـ

    ـمِدِ أظفَارَهُ ونفْعُ الصَّيُودِ

    Except early to give and thank the giver

    Seeking praise under the canopy of virtue

  69. أرْغَبَتْهُمْ عن القَنَا قَصَبَاتٌ

    مُغْنِيَاتٌ عن كل جيشٍ مَقُودِ

    A praiser, not the praised

    Every word said in his praise

  70. لا تَرَاها تَعِيثُ عَيْثَ الذئاب الـ

    ـطُلْسِ لكنْ تَصِيدُ صَيْدَ الفُهُودِ

    Derives from his actions, not pretense

    His water is from the sword, and his distinction

  71. حينَ لا تُجْتَبَى وظيفةُ بيْت ال

    مال من مُرْهَقٍ ولا مَضْهُودِ

    From the glistening coat of mail

    A master pure of soul like the decree

  72. صُحِّحُوا والمصَحَّحُ الآمِنُ القلْـ

    ـب خِلافُ المبْهرَجِ المزؤُودِ

    Of God, unchanging and irreversible

    You would think his face shines

  73. فلأقلامِهِمْ صَريرٌ مَهيبٌ

    يُزْدَرَى عنده زئيرُ الأُسُودِ

    With the gleam of lightning in the clouds

    He never ceases to call for rights

  74. والقراطيسُ خافقاتٌ بأيْدِيـ

    ـهِمْ كمرْهُوبِ خافقاتِ البُنُودِ

    Forgetting wrongs done to him

    We have seen his generous hands

  75. وهُمُ راكبو النَّمَارِقِ أمضى

    من كُمَاةٍ على خَنَاذِيذَ قُودِ

    Unfettered, above the adorned

    He remedies pains with his efforts

  76. من أناسٍ قُعُودُهُم كقيام الـ

    ـناس لكنَّهُمْ قليلُو القُعُودِ

    And the heat of his hands like hot steel

    The noble one diverted me from his wealth

  77. لا الذّكاءُ استِعَارُ شَرٍّ ولا الأحْ

    لامُ فِيهِمْ من فَتْرَةٍ وخُمُودِ

    Dignified, not distastefully

    He was most generous at the start, so I became

  78. دِينُهُمْ أنْ يُمَسَّ لِينٌ بِلِين

    ويُصكَّ الجُلْمُودُ بالجلمودِ

    Needless of more, my deficiency being blossoms

    Despite the gifts I gained unasked,

  79. منْهُمُ الغيْثُ والصَّوَاعِقُ في النَّا

    سِ وفي كلِّ مَحْلَةٍ جَارُودِ

    I still complain of one who deprives

    His sword cut me so he came

  80. فلهمْ تَارَةً عِدَاتُ بُرُوقٍ

    ولهم تارةً وَعِيدُ رُعُودِ

    Like rain and floods descending the mountain

    I do not blame him, though yearning for him

  81. ولَقَدْ يُوعِدُونَ ثم يَذُوبُو

    نَ سَماحاً إلى أوان الجمودِ

    Has burdened me with counting Zarood’s sands

    And exhausted my inadequate gratitude

  82. كم وَعِيدٍ لهُمْ تَبَلَّجَ عن صَفْـ

    ـحٍ ومَنْحٍ تَبَلُّجَ الموْعُودِ

    That cries for help like one weakened

    God forbid! I have no share

  83. وَوَعيدٍ لهم تَكَشَّفَ عن بطْ

    شٍ أبى حَدُّهُ اعتداءَ الحُدُودِ

    In his plentiful givings

    From Qasim I come and go

  84. بَرَّزوا في العُلا ونام رجالٌ

    برَّزُوا في الكرى على عَبُّودِ

    Freely, with unattainable hopes

    In a breeze of bliss as though

  85. إنْ يفُوزُوا بسَبْقِ كلِّ مُجَارٍ

    بجُدُودٍ سعيدةٍ وجُدُودِ

    The breath of two sweet-smelling pastures

    My sins forgot me through his visage

  86. فلقدْ بذَّهُمْ أخوهم بِشَأوٍ

    تَحْسِبُ الريحَ عنده في القُيُودِ

    And I saw myself virtuous through him

    He restored me like the early rain

  87. مِدْرَهُ المُلْكِ أمْتِعَتْ قدماه

    بالمُقامِ المُوطَّأ الممهُودِ

    After days of dryness and decay

    So I am to him in Paradise

  88. مَهْرَبُ النفس مَطْلَبُ العَنْسِ مُلْقَى

    كُلِّ رَحْلٍ مَحَطُّ كلِّ قَتُودِ

    Under its banana tree’s shade

    And he has, atop the gift of charity, a blessing

  89. ذو الأيادِي على الجميع اللَّوَاتِي

    شَمِلَتْ كُلَّ سَيِّدٍ ومَسُودِ

    Beyond restful sleep after kneeling

    His manners awakened me

  90. من أياديهِ قاسمٌ حسْبُ مَنْ عد

    دَ بذاك المعْدُودِ من مَعْدُودِ

    And his knowledge reminded me after slumber

    My temperament became gentle

  91. أخْدَمَ المُلْكَ مُرْهَفاً في مضاء الـ

    ـسَيْفِ صَلْتاً وقَدِّهِ المقْدُودِ

    More than fleece and harder than rugged stone

    Not strange, his visits to eyes

  92. غَرَضُ العيْنِ غَيْرُ مُنْصَرِفٍ عَنْـ

    ـهُ إلى غيره ولا مَصْدُودِ

    And hearts, the home of affection

    Do you see a face like his among men

  93. وَطَرُ النَّفْسِ غير مُبْتَرَكٍ فِيـ

    ـهِ بِذَمٍّ له ولا مَزْهُودِ

    Or a stature like his among the tall?

    Or do you see a merit like his

  94. فاصطفاه أميرُهُ وجَرى منْـ

    ـهُ وِفَاقاً مَجْرَى الزُّلال البَرُودِ

    Since merits were distinguished?

    Beauty exalted Qasim when it saw

  95. وحَبانا به غِياثاً فأحْيَى

    بِرُفُودٍ موصولةٍ بِرُفُودَ

    Its full moon over its branch

    And glory became his servant when it saw

  96. سائلي عن أبي الحسين بدا الصُّبـ

    ـح فأغنى عن جَذْوةٍ في وَقُودِ

    Him spread his hands over the polished

    O father of two Husseins, triumph of a knowledge

  97. نورُ عينٍ سُرور نفسٍ وَقَانا

    ربُّنا فقدَه ولو بِفُقودِ

    You mastered and precedence of generosity

    May God increase you in goodness

  98. صُفِّيتْ نفسُه وظَرْفٌ وَعاها

    فهْو صافٍ كالسَّلسلِ الموْرُودِ

    Beyond the righteous, thanked forever

    And show me your blissful son

  99. وألذُّ الشَّراب ما كان منه

    صَافيَ العيْن صافيَ النَّاجُودِ

    With his children in witnessed company

    In a life from the minister who illuminated

  100. لا تَرى القاسم المؤمَّل إلا

    باكرَ الرِّفْد شاكرَ المرْفُودِ

    The realm, towering, lofty

    Who recovered politics through resolve

  101. مُنْشَدَ المدحِ تحت أفْياء عُرْفٍ

    ناشِد طَالِبيه لا منشودِ

    And revived governance after decay

    Our pact was tied by his hands, may the good

  102. مُسْتَمَدَّاً من فعله كلُّ قولٍ

    قِيل فيه فما له من نُفُودِ

    Reward his hands for our tied rope

    Not like one whose knowledge was superficial

  103. ومن السيْف ماؤُهُ ومن الطَّا

    وُوس ذي الوَشْي وَشْيُ تلك البُرودِ

    Showing the slaughtered as roasted

    Yet you see him in horsemanship

  104. سَيِّدٌ بِرُّه كمحْتُوم أمْرِ الـ

    ـلَه يأتيك غيرَ ما مرْدودِ

    Mounting his horse with saddlebags first

    So congratulations, our minister, for subjects

  105. تحْسَبُ العينُ بشْرَهُ في نداه

    لَمْعَ بَرْقٍ في عارضٍ مَنْضُودِ

    Who thrived after their setbacks

    And congratulations on your gifts, despite the envy

  106. ليس يَنْفكُّ داعياً لحقُوقٍ

    تعتَريهِ وناسياً لحُقُودِ

    Of critic and jealous one

    O you who clothed me lifelong with garments

  107. كم رأينا لجُود كفَّيْهِ مَصْفُو

    داً طليقاً من حِلْيَةِ المصْفُودِ

    While mine were short as the envied's

    Through you, my sunna became my fortune though

  108. ما غَلِيلٌ لم يَسْقِهِ بمساعيـ

    ـه وجَدْوَى يديْهِ بالمَبْرودِ

    My fortune was like the dubiously gained

    Through you, the visited became my homeland though

  109. صَرَفَتني عن مالِه بَدأَة المُسْـ

    ـرِفِ صَرْفَ الكريم لا المطْرودِ

    I was in a state unlike the accustomed

    And many thanks in all great efforts

  110. أَجْزَل البدْء لي فأغْنَى عن العَوْ

    دِ فما بي إلا اخْتِلالُ الوُرُودِ

    From your works for me and crossed deserts

    You chose a most faithful and devoted one

  111. فقْرُ عيني إلى محاسن ذاك الـ

    ـوَجْهِ فقْرٌ لا ينْطَوِي في الجُحُودِ

    Who makes time smile against the frowning of fate

    He was never stingy with the little he related of you

  112. وابتهاجي به ابتهاجِي بالضو

    ءِ وروحِ النسيم بعد الركودِ

    Nor were you ungenerous in time of need

    By my life, I will glorify you with praise

  113. وحنيني إلى مجالسه الزهـ

    ـرِ حنيني إلى الصبا المعهودِ

    Compounding your lofty names

    You have a sea that fills my sea

  114. واغتباطي بهِ اغتباطيَ بالبُر

    ءِ وعطْف الحبيب بعد الصُّدودِ

    Flowing endlessly, unemptied

    Presenting it though the hasty disdain it

  115. غير آتٍ وإن غَنيتُ مَجُوداً

    منه بالمعجزات شكوى المَجُودِ

    Perfecting its beauty with leisure

    It harms it not that the critics failed to speak of it

  116. غَتَّني سيْبُه فجاءَ مَجِيءَ الـ

    ـقطرِ والسَّيْل مُقْبلاً من صَعُودِ

    I bear witness to all the bounty

  117. لستُ أشكُوه غير أنَّ لُهَاهُ

    كَلَّفتني إحصاء رمل زَرُودِ

    I ladled upon you, envied or loved

    The jealous scorn and the friendly cheer

  118. واسْتَكدَّتْ حَسِيرَ شكري فشكري

    يستغيثُ استغاثةَ المجْهُودِ

  119. حَاشَا للّه ليس منِّيَ شَيْءٌ

    في ذُرَاه العَفِيِّ بالمكْدُودِ

  120. أنا مِن قاسم أرُوحُ وأغْدُو

    بمَرَاد من الرَّجَاء مَرُودِ

  121. في نَسِيم من السَّعَادة مَطْلُو

    لٍ كأنفاس ذات عِطْرَيْنِ رُودِ

  122. عَزَبَتْ عنه سَيِّئاتِي وإحسْا

    نِي منْه بمنْظَرٍ مرْصودِ

  123. ردَّ كالبُكْرةِ المطِيرَةِ دهْراً

    كان لي كالظَّهِيرَة الصَّيْخُودِ

  124. فكأني لديه من جَنَّةِ الفرْ

    دوسِ في ظِلِّ سدْرِها المْخضُودِ

  125. ولهُ بعْدَ نِعْمَة الرِّفْدِ نُعْمَى

    فَوْقَ نُعْمَى الرُّقَاد بعد السُّهُودِ

  126. رَاضَني ظَرْفُهُ ويَقَّظَ مني

    عِلْمُهُ فادَّكَرْتُ بعد سُمُودِ

  127. وَغَدَتْ شِيمَتي أَرَقَّ من الكَأْ

    سِ وكانت أجْفَى من الرَّاقُودِ

  128. غَيْرُ نُكْرٍ حُلُولُهُ من عُيُون

    وقُلوب مَحلَّة الموْدُودِ

  129. هل ترى مثْلَ وجْهه في وجوه الـ

    ـنَاس أو مثلَ ْقَدِّهِ في القُدُودِ

  130. أوْ تَرَى مِثل فضْلِهِ في صُنُوف الـ

    ـفَضْلِ مُذْ حازَ حالة الملْدُودِ

  131. أكْبَرَ الحسْنُ قاسماً إذ رآه

    بَدْره فوق غُصْنِه الأمْلودِ

  132. وغَدَا المجْدُ عبْدَه إذ رآه

    نَشَرتْهُ يداه من مَلْحُودِ

  133. يا أبا الحُسْنَيَيْنِ فَوْزَةُ عِلْمٍ

    لك نُفِّلْتَهَا وسَبْقَةُ جُودِ

  134. زادَكَ الله فوق صالِحِ ما أعْـ

    ـطاكَ شُكراً وغِبْطَةً في خُلودِ

  135. وأراك ابْنك السعيد كثيراً

    ببنيهِ في المحْفِلِ المشْهُودِ

  136. في حياةٍ من الوزير الذي أضْـ

    ـحَى به المُلْكُ مُسْتَقِلَّ العَمُودِ

  137. والذي اسْتَدْرَكَ السياسةَ بالحزْ

    م وأحيا التدبْير بعد الهُمُودِ

  138. مَسَدَتْ حَبْلَنا يداه جزى الخيْـ

    ـرُ يَدَيْهِ عن حَبْلِنا المَمْسُودِ

  139. لا كَمَنْ كانَ عِلْمُه واقلب العلـ

    ـمَ يُريهِ الذَّبِيحَ كالمفْصُودِ

  140. وتراهُ من الفُرُوسَةِ يَعْلُو

    خيْلَهُ بالسُّروج قبل اللُّبُودِ

  141. فَهَنيئاً وزِيرُنا لِرَعَايَا

    أمْرَعَتْ بعد قاعِها المجْرُودِ

  142. وهنيئاً لكَ العَطاء وما أُرْ

    دفَ مِنْ رَغْمِ شانئٍ وحَسُودِ

  143. يا مُعيري ثَوْبَ الحياة بَل الكَا

    سِيَّ بالطَّوْل حُلَّة المحْسُودِ

  144. بك صار السَّنيّ حَظِّي وقدْماً

    كان حَظِّي كأُكْلَة المعْمُودِ

  145. بك صار المزُور رَحْلي وقَدْ كَا

    نَ بحال المريض غيرِ المَعُودِ

  146. ويَميناً بكلِّ شأوٍ بَطينٍ

    من مَسَاعيكَ لي وشَوْطٍ طَرُودِ

  147. لقد اخْتَرْتَ ذا وفاءٍ أَلُوفاً

    يُضْحِكُ الدَّهْرَ عن ثَنَاء شَرُودِ

  148. لم يكُنْ بالكَنُودِ فيما نَثا عَنْـ

    ـكَ ولا كنْتَ في الجَدَا بكَنُودِ

  149. ولَعَمْرِي لأُمْجِدَنَّكَ مِنْ مَدْ

    حٍ بأسْمَائك العُلى مَعْقُودِ

  150. لك بَحْرٌ يُمدُّ بْحري فيجْري

    غيْرَ ما مُنْزف ولا مَثْمودِ

  151. هَاكَها كاعباً تخوَّنَها الإعْـ

    ـجَالُ تَكْميلَ حُسنِها بالنُّهُودِ

  152. لمْ يضرْهَا أنْ لَمْ يقلْها النُّوَاسيـ

    ـيُ ولا شَيْخُ بُحْتر بن عَتُودِ

  153. وشُهُودي بما نَحَلْتُكَ شَتَّى

    من حَسُودٍ ومنْ ودُودٍ حَشُودِ
