رجلٌ من آل يحيى

أبَواهُ أبَوانِ

A man of the family of Yahya,

whose parents are two,

منهما شيخٌ جليل

من رسولِ اللَّهِ داني

one an esteemed elder,

a near descendant of Allah's Messenger,

وغلامٌ من بني الأص

فر فَحْلٌ كالحِصان

and a lad from the tribe of Al-As,

a stallion like a steed.

فهْوَ حقاً لا مجازاً

أبواهُ رَجُلان

So truly, not metaphorically,

his parents are two men.
