دارُ أمنٍ وقرارِ

واعتلاءٍ واقتدارِ

A house of security and stability

And ascension and power

ومعافاة وشكرٍ

لا ابتلاء واصطبارِ

And wellbeing and gratitude

Not affliction and endurance

أُسِّست والطير باليم

نِ وبالسعد جواري

It was founded while the birds in Yemen

And good fortune were its neighbors

حلَّها بحر وأوفت

فوق بحر ذي غِمار

It reached the sea and exceeded

Above a sea of clouds

وعليٌّ أشبه البح

رين حقاً بالبحار

And Ali is most similar to the

Seas truly to the oceans

مَنْزل يشهد بالنْب

لِ كُبارٌ لِكُبار

An abode that the great ones witness

Great ones to great ones

لم يزل يبنَى بناء ال

مجد مرفوعَ المنار

It was built with polished marble

And fresh bricks

سبقَ السُّبّاق عفواً

غير مشقوق الغبار

Not with slabs of limestone

Of Alinjouj the bluish

سَبْقَ وثاب الجراثي

م سبوحٍ في الخَبار

And it wore a dress of whiteness

Its night is like day

سيد الكُتّاب طُرّاً

ليس في ذاك تماري

So it came adorned

With beauty and borrowed light

خيرُ دارٍ حلَّ فيها

خيرُ أرباب الديار

Of luster and clarity

It is of light and fire

وقديماً وفّق اللَّ

هُ خِياراً لخيار

The dawn shares from it

Between ceiling and wall

بُنِيَتْ بالمرمر المس

نون والتبر النُّضار

The two gardens were clothed

After careful selection

ولُبابِ الساج لا بل

بِيَلَنْجوج القَماري

When no banner suited them

Except a cloak

واكتست ثوبَ بياضٍ

ليلُهُ مثلُ النهار

The decoration was repeated

Again and again

فأتت زهراءَ تُعشى

بائتلاقٍ واستعار

A paradise that reminds with paradise

A heart of consideration

ذات لمعٍ واتضاحٍ

فهْي من نور ونار

With two orchards adorned

With light and fruits

قُسِم الإشراقُ منها

بين سقف وجدار

On delicate branches

Like the limbs of maidens

ألبِسَ الزّرّين والجِب

سين من بعد اختيار

That gently yields with affection

In thickets of strong fragrance

حين لم يرض شعاراً

لهما دون دثار

Of aroused perfume

Wherein the melodies gather

عُلِّيَا الزَّينَ مرارً

كُرِّرتْ بعد مرار

Of strings and flutes

And the beasts are pastured

جنةٌ تُذْكِرُ بالجنْ

نَة قلباً ذا اعتبار

In thousands and flocks

It gathered the beasts of the plains

ذاتُ بُستانين قد زِي

نا بنَوْر وثمار

To the beasts of the deserts

How many a flock of beasts

في غصونٍ ناعماتٍ

مثل أوصال العَذارِي

As skillful horses

With necks like virgin brides

تتقي من يجتني من

ها بلين واهتصار

And horns like the crescent moons

How many a flock of people

في بقاعٍ دَمثاتٍ

عطراتِ المستثار

Competing therein

With faces like mirrors

تتداعى الغُنُّ فيها

من قيان وقَمَار

And locks like bracelets

They overwhelm the horseman

وتَراعَى الوحش فيها

من ألوف ونَوار

With a glancing eye

Eyes with intoxication

جمعتْ وحش المقاصي

رَ إلى وحش القفار

Beyond the intoxication of perfume

And long ago the poets were incapable

كم بها سرباً من الوح

شِ كحيلاً باحورار

Of those with bracelets

O those faces

ذا رقابٍ كالمضاحي

وقرون كالمَداري

In clothes of brocade

And silk, hot silk, and saffron

كم بها سرباً من الإن

س له فيها تباري

Rejecting impurities

A scene that does not ask the viewer

ذا وجوهٍ كالمرايا

وقدودٍ كالسواري

For forgiveness due to negligence

Of all beauty a vessel

تصرع الفارس منه

نّ عن الطِّرف المُطار

Of all evilness a disgrace

How many cheeks therein

أعينٌ فيهنَّ سكرٌ

دونه سكر العُقار

Beloved of the full moons

Around a cheek wherein is water

وقديماً عجز الأس

وار عن ذات السوارِ

Standing flowing to the eye

Wherein are torments and wherein

يا لهاتيك وجوهاً

في ثياب الكَيْمُخار

The burning of livers

With allure leaving people

والحريرِ الحرّ والعُصْ

فر مرفضِّ الشرار

Without allure

How many a drink greenish sweet rounded

منظرٌ لا يسأل النْا

ظر جوداً باغتفار

Like the crescent of the month but more obscure than secretiveness

Under which is a mouth that boasts

من جميع الزَّين كاسٍ

من جميع الشَّين عاري

To every lewdness

In a mouth that blows musk

كم بها من صُدُغ أسْ

وَدَ معشوقِ المَدار

When it nears kissing

A virtuous king who meets

حول خدٍّ فيه ماءٌ

واقفٌ للعين جاري

Every evil with aversion

He did not wear a garment of disgrace

فيه لوعاتٌ وفيه

رِيُّ أكبادٍ حِرار

Nor a garment of shame

He built the house that he built

ذي عِذار يترك النْا

سك مخلوعَ العذار

To excessive pride

Rather he built in a way

كم بها من شاربٍ أخ

ضرَ حلو المُسْتدار

That reminds of paradise in the best lands

He exemplified paradise in the world

كسَرار الشهر بل أخ

فى مَخَطَّاً من سرار

Eloquently and concisely

With structures like fortresses

تحته ثغرٌ يباهي

ه لدَى كلِّ افترار

And plains like deserts

And portrayed it in glory

في فمٍ يَنْفح مسكاً

حين يدنو للسِّرار

That it gained from brilliance

It was furnished from the best of Najd

ملك عَفٌّ تلقّى

كل فحش بازورا

That the hands of merchants owned

With beautiful statues

ما اكتسى مَلْبس شينٍ

لا ولا ملبس عار

Of small and big

It spread the drinking sessions of Kisra

أنشأ الدار التي أن

شا لإفراط اغترار

Dastabd in its yards

Or archers in chase

بل بِنىً تُذْكِرهُ الجن

نة في خير عَقَار

Behind a flock or peak

Or a regiment of wild donkeys

مَثَّل الفردوس في الدنْ

يا بليغاً ذا اختصار

With marked foreheads

Behind it every swift

بمبان كالرَّواسي

وصِحانٍ كالصَّحاري

Galloping in stirred sand

All like attacking dogs

وحَكاها في سناءٍ

ما اكتستْه من شَوارِ

Snarling beasts

That turned away an arrow from a doe

نُجِّدَتْ من خير نجدٍ

ملكتْ أيدي التِّجار

Or bull or donkey

It was enjoyed with the aforementioned master

ذا تماثيلٍ حسان

من صغار وكبار

On the day of pride

And he lived in it privately

نشرتْ أسرةَ كسرى

دَسْتبْدا في دَوار

From worries and caution

It is of the form of the house of success

أو رماة في طِرادٍ

خلف سربٍ أو صُوار

Not the house of separation

A Kaaba wherein people perform Hajj

أو رعيلٍ من حمير ال

وحش مشبوبِ الحِضار

With pilgrimage and devotion

Seekers of the virtues of Ali

خلفَه كل حثيث ال

رَكض في نقعٍ مُثار

And his abundant gifts

For they are in the hands

كلهم مُشلي كلابٍ

مُسْلَهمّاتٍ ضَواري

Of one whose protection is sought

One whose wealth is sought in proper conduct

قد نحا سهماً لظبيٍ

أو لثورٍ أو حمار

Protector of reputations

An advisor when feared

مُتِّعتْ بالسيد المذ

كور في يوم الفخار

Pitfalls of the advisor

O neighbor who became

وَلْينَم فيها خَليّاً

من همومِ وحِذار

The hoped for neighbor

And one who does not turn away

إنها من شكل دار ال

فوز لا دار البوارِ

The hopeful with an excuse

Settle the built house

كعبة يعمُرها النا

س بحج واعتمار

On Sukayna's abode

And facing a cheek

طالبي فضل عليٍّ

وعطاياه الغِزار

Of springtime's greenery

Dotted with yellowness

فهمُ بين أيادي

مُستماحٍ مُستجار

And whiteness and redness

With stars of chamomile

مستماحِ المال في المع

روف محميِّ الذِّمار

And suns of blossoms

And wearing a dress of life

مستشارٍ حين تُخشَى

عَثراتُ المستشار

Not a borrowed dress

Make the house you built

أيها الجار الذي أص

بح مأمولَ الجوارِ

Manners of wrapping

Renew it for the obedience of God

والذي لا يصرف الآ

مِلُ عنه باعتذار

And renew a thousand houses

And may your life last happily

أنزل الدار المُبَنّا

ةَ على سُقْيا القطار

For fleeting days

May God connect you through it

وعلى استقبال وجهٍ

من ربيع ذي اخضرار

In the house of peace

Wherein you will not lack

مُتوشٍّ باصفرار

وبياض واحمرار

In the two houses from Him a good neighbor

I wish I knew of you, did I

ذي نجوم من خُزامَى

وشموس من بَهار

Ruin my matter by reminding you

A look that is good I

وتَسربل ثوب عيشٍ

ليس بالثوب المُعار

Did not leave excellence in my waiting

أخْلِق الدار التي أن

شأتَ إخلاق الإزار

أبْلِها في طاعة اللَّ

ه وجدِّد ألف دار

ولْيطُل عمرك مسرو

راً بأيامٍ قصار

يصِل الله بها خل

دك في دار القرار

حيث لا تعدم في الدا

رين منه خير جار

ليت شعري عنك هل أهْ

هَلت أمري لادّكار

نظراً يُحسن أني

لم أدعْ حُسن انتظاري
