ولمَّا رأيتُ البينَ قد جدَّ جَدُّه

وقد قُرِنَتْ للبين عشرُ سفائنِ

When I saw the parting had parted in earnest

And for parting were yoked ten ships all equipped,

أماطتْ رداء الخزِّ عن حُرِّ وجهِها

ولم تخشَ من داياتها والحواضن

She unveiled from her cheeks the veil of her shame

And feared not for all her frame and its members.
