أضحتْ حَلِيلةُ خالد

ذَلَّ اللسان بحمدِها

Khalid's companion has become weak

His tongue has become accustomed to praising her

عَمَّتْ أيُورَ النائكي

نَ بِنَيْلها وبرفْدِها

The homes of the wailers have been filled

With her generosity and kindness

شفعت إليهم في عُمْي

رَة فانتهوْا عن جَلْدِها

She interceded on behalf of the blind

And they stopped beating her

أغْنتهُمُ عن ذاك لا

ذاقوا مرارة فقدها

She made them needless of that

They did not taste the bitterness of losing her
