They claimed that you, O Khallad
A lax caretaker
Borrow a spear from your neighbor
During times of discord
To defend people at your wedding
With a borrowed spear
I said do not blame him for that
That is no shame
A knight may excel in battle
With a borrowed spear
If you could see the old man
Twirling it like a spindle
As he stuffs in its shaft
The foreskin of a stallion
Your eyes would see a piercing
Flying with sparks
May Allah protect you, sheikh
Other than the unprotected rabble
Never shall your wedding be
For a friend or neighbor
To sport in it like rats
Like the rats of a donkey
With your consent, though you are a man
Who consents to trivialities
