I once lived in a state whose memory I cherished,
And whose care made my heart quiver with wonder.
But now my state has changed, my goal is different:
To forget those memories, so they disappear like sunset.
I would lift the cup, filled to the brim,
To revel happily, carried away with joy.
She brought me more happiness and pleasure -
Now she flees from my troubles and sorrows.
