يا ذا الذي ضنَّ بآزَاذِهِ

تَعَرُّضاً منا لتوبيخِهِ

O you who reproached me for my faults

Exposing me to your rebuke

ما كنتُ أدْرِي أن آزاذكم

معتصم باللّه في ذِيخِهِ

I did not know your dignity

Was guarded by God in its glory

حتى علمنا علم مستيقِنٍ

أن الثريا من شَمَاريخه

Until we learned with certainty

That the Pleiades are among its jewels
