1. يا عجباً من خالدٍ

    في صبْرِهِ وجلَدِهْ

    How strange is Khaled

    In his patience and composure

  2. قاتله اللّه فَمَا

    أبْعَدَهُ من رَشَدِهْ

    May God destroy him, yet

    He is not deterred from his right mind

  3. يُولجُ في زوجتهِ

    أَيْرَ سِوَاهُ بِيَدِهْ

    He inserts into his wife

    The hand of another man

  4. يحْلُبُ تيساً مثلَه

    في قَعْبِ أُمِّ وَلَدهْ

    He milks a billy goat like him

    In the lap of his wife's mother

  5. بِكَفِّ سوءٍ بُتِكَتْ

    ذِراعُها من عَضُدِهْ

    With an evil palm she was hit

    Her arm broken from her shoulder

  6. يُبْرِكُها في بَيْتِهِ

    على حشايا مُهُدِهْ

    He mounts her in his house

    On the pillows of his bed

  7. يقبِضُ بالخَمْسِ على

    أيْرِ غُلامٍ بيده

    He takes by force the money

    Of a boy's pay in his hand

  8. ويَنْتَحِي في عِرْسِهِ

    بِعُدَّةٍ من عُددِهْ

    And he celebrates his wedding

    With a number of his count

  9. أيْرُ غُلام أيْرُهُ

    أعْظَمُ ما في جسدهْ

    The boy whose money he took

    Is the best part of his body

  10. يضْربُ بالحُوقِ إذا

    أنْعَظ أعْلَى كَبِدهْ

    He strikes him with a truncheon when

    He cries out from his liver

  11. يُعْملُهُ في عِرْسِهِ

    لَيْلَتَهُ إلى غَدِهْ

    He makes him serve his wedding

    All night until morning

  12. ولَو رأى ذا غيْرَةٍ

    في بيْتِهِ أو بلَدِهْ

    And if a jealous man saw

    In his house or town

  13. أرْعدَ أوْ تَحْسَبهُ

    ذا جِنَّةٍ منْ رَعَدِهْ

    He would thunder and reckon him

    A jinn of his thunder

  14. منْ ذا يُضَاهِي خالداً

    في حلْمه وجلدِهْ

    Who can match Khaled
