Though faults I overlook, correcting them,
When speech brings lapse of memory to mind
I let go grudges I held fast before
And overlook what had offended me.
I turn a blind eye to all wrongs I see
To watch for what good or ill may find
I pardon friends their wrong with clemency
Repaying harm with constant acts of kind
Remembering two goods for each misdeed
When I recall my brethren's sins, I'm blind
Not for my fathers and their glory's sake
But justice holds the balance in my mind
