لا تغافلْ يا أبا الصق

رِ وليستْ فيك غفلَهْ

Do not neglect, O father of sincerity

And in you there is no neglect

إن حرمانَك مَنْ لم

تحرمِ العافينَ قبلَهْ

If your deprivation of those

Who did not deprive the kind before it

مُثْلَةٌ منك به في ال

ناسِ تُنسي كلَّ مُثلهْ

Is an exemplar from you among the people

That makes every exemplar forgettable

وجزاءُ المدحِ بالمث

لةِ شيءٌ لسْتَ أهلَهْ

And the reward for praise with an exemplar

Is something you are not worthy of
