فتى على خُبْزه ونائلِهِ

أشفَقُ من والدٍ على ولدِهْ

A young man protective of his bread and food

More so than a father concerned for his son

رغيفُه منه حين يُسأَلُهُ

مكان روح الجبان من جسدِهْ

His loaf when asked of him
