Do not let your youthful vigor depart,

Its fine appearance suits you well.

Quenching times now passed, their days

Are white as though their sunsets dawn.

For youth has a willfulness with which

It can be willful, and a charm with which it charms.

In you quivers a branch for the breezes of youth

Shaded by gazelles and in bloom.

    Alas, you idols like statues!

What have I to do with old age as a friend?

Peace be upon you in greeting,

For my youth has poured away swiftly.

Days have not united beloved ones

Except on condition they separate them.

O household of Tahir the pure, as his name,

My tongue is free in praising you.

If the time of youth forgets me and its covenant,

The time of your era will suffice for that.

I have come to dwell in your sanctuary,

No misfortunes have access to it.

    Whoever betrays pacts and covenants,

Your pact is commanded to fulfill.

As if your promise guarantees your pact,

Its harvest ripened by its planting.

    And you sanction their adversary.

You continue rising up the steps of ascendance

Until the Pleiades point to you.

However much is stolen from your ancestors,

No seller profits by praising others.

But they granted your glory to others than you,

So I give your due and that is the truth.

Praise is not stolen from others for you,

But from you it is stolen for others.
