عجبَ الشيخ خالدٌ من أناسٍ

يَعْكسون الأمور أعجبَ عكْسِ

The Shaykh Khaled was amazed at people

Who inverse things in the most amazing inverse

أنكروا أن يكون مسلكَ أيرٍ

ثُقْبَةٌ لا تزال مسلكَ جَعْس

They denied that the path of virtue

Could still be the path of vice

لكن الشيخ خالد يحبس الأص

لع فيها برغمهم أيَّ حبس

But Shaykh Khaled restrains his pain

And persists therein despite them, restrained

ويرى أن رفع أمِّ سُويدٍ

فوق مقدارِها مَهانةُ نفس

And sees raising Umm Suwayd

Beyond her status insults the soul
