O Abul Abbas, you were blessed
With sound judgment and health
And you have always been
Generous and noble
I threatened fate with you
And it yielded with peace
And excused what I love
And ignorance sold wisdom
So my lord, to wealth
And my lord, to knowledge
Stay resolute in my matter
As you were before
For there is no sin in my
Returning one day to your grace
A sack is not disgraced by patches
Nor a flask by a wax seal
A decent living is like a wedding
And surplus like a dream
The aged and wealthy
Biting a shriveled lip
With stronger judgment
And weaker body
Enough, enough for the likes of me
To be attacked with swords
Rather I weep because I wake
To find my fate in ruins
Though I have tact and wisdom
Tightly bound like a blind man's rope
Are you pleased to see fate
Not even name me?
And in your kindness there is a charm
For my state - what charm!
