1. يا فؤادي غلبتني عِصيانا

    فأطِعْني فقد عصيتَ زمانا

    O my heart, you have overcome me with disobedience

    So obey me as you have disobeyed for a time

  2. يا فؤادي أما تَحنُّ إلى طُوْ

    بَى إذا الريحُ هَبَّت الأغصانا

    O my heart, do you not yearn to repent

    When the wind blows the branches

  3. مَثِّلِ الأولياءَ في جنّة الخلْ

    دِ إذا ما تقابلوا إخوانا

    Imitate the saints in the gardens of eternity

    When they meet each other as brethren

  4. قد تعالَوْا على أسِرَّة دُرٍّ

    لابسينَ الحريرَ والأرجوانا

    Wearing silk and purple, sitting on chairs of pearls

    With their crowns and garlands vying in beauty with crowns

  5. وعليهم تيجانُهم والأكالي

    لُ تباهي بحُسنها التيجانا

    Taking them in turns, inclusively

    In adjoining gardens, gardens upon gardens

  6. يتعاطَوْنَها سُلافاً شَمولاً

    في جِنانٍ مجاورَاتٍ جِنانا

    They are welcomed with kind words

    Welcome, welcome to you, O riders

  7. يتلقّاهمُ بقولٍ حَفيٍّ

    مرحباً مرحباً بكم رُكبانا

    The veils of light are lifted from His face, Glory be to Him

    And they benefit with joy and delight

  8. وتجلَّتْ عن وجههِ حُجُبُ النو

    ر فسبحانَ وجهِه سبحانا

    Which dispel evil and sorrows

    Then they return and are received by Houris

  9. واستفادوا بشاشةً وسروراً

    ينفيانِ الشرورَ والأحزانا

    Of the daughters of bliss, most beautiful

    With faces like lanterns, knowing only shades and retreats

  10. ثم آبوا فاستقبلَتْهُم حِسانٌ

    من بناتِ النعيم فُقْن الحسانا

    Their locks hanging loosely over their backs, diffusing musk and ambergris

    If the moon or the sun saw one of them, they would swoon before her beauty and submit

  11. بوجوهٍ مثل المصابيح لا يَعْ

    رِفْنَ إلا الظلالَ والأكنانا

    They greet them saying "welcome and at ease!"

    Raising bunches of basil to them

  12. مُرْسلاتٍ على الروادِف منهنْ

    نَ فُروعاً تمج مِسكاً وبانا

    They are enamored with the saints, who grow more luminous, increasing their enchantment

    You see them approaching them eagerly, their colors changed with joy

  13. لو رأى البدرُ بعضَهُنَّ أو الشمْ

    سُ لَذلَّا لوجهها واستكانا

    Their mouths fresh as water when thirsty you drink it

    Saying, "Patience is impossible without you, so descend, let us see you, it is time"

  14. فتلقَّينهم بأهلاً وسهلاً

    رافعات إليهمُ الريحانا

    They lower their feet to descend and settle in pavilions, wearing safety

    Sometimes they visit each other, and sometimes they visit their Lord

  15. كُنَّ بالأولياء مُفتتناتٍ

    ثم زِيدوا نوراً فزِدْنَ افتِتانا

    Then they withdraw, desiring their homelands

    They spend eternity in ever-new joy

  16. فتراهُنَّ مقبلاتٍ عليهم

    بابتهاجٍ قد عَصْفروا الألوانا

    Never devoid of bliss or anytime

  17. راشفات أفواهَهُمْ رشَفَك الما

    ءَ إذا ما شرِبْتَهُ ظمآنا

  18. قائلاتٍ عيلَ التصبُّرُ عنكم

    فانزلوا آن أنْ نراكُمْ وحانا

  19. فَثنوا أرجُلَ النزولِ وحلُّوا

    في المقاصير لابسينَ أمانا

  20. تارةً بعضُهم يزورون بعضاً

    ويزورونَ ربَّهم أحيانا

  21. ثم يَخْلُون بعد ذلك بالحُوْ

    رِ إذا ما تشوَّقوا الأوطانا

  22. فهمُ الدهر في سرورٍ جديدٍ

    ليس يخلونَ من سرورٍ أوانا
