فتىً يقطعُ الآمالَ غر مُخيَّبٍ

ولكنهُ يعطي قَصارَ المؤمِّلِ

A youth who severs hopes without failure,

Yet gives the hopeful brief respite,

إلى أين بالآمالِ بعدَ نواله

إلى أين وافى السَّفْرُ آخرَ منزلِ

After attaining hopes, where to with them?

After the journey ends, where is the final halt?
