1. لِيَكفِكَ حاسداً حَسَدُهْ

    وما تَصْلى به كَبِدُهْ

    To stop an envier envying,

    And the liver he prays with,

  2. فلو أسْعرته ناراً

    لكانت دون ما يجدُهْ

    If I set him on fire,

    It would be less than what he feels,

  3. وذي حسدٍ يكاشِرُني

    وتحت جَنانه رَصدُهْ

    And he who envies me closely,

    With malice beneath his eyelids,

  4. يبيتُ إذا تذكَّرني

    وحمّى خَيْبَرٍ تَرِدُهْ

    When he remembers me at night,

    The fever of Khaibar burns him,

  5. ويرمَدُ حين يبصرني

    فَدام بعينه رَمدُهْ

    And he throws me angry looks,

    May his eyes be forever sore,

  6. أصيبُ سَواء مقتله

    على أنْ لستُ أعتمدُهْ

    I care not if he perishes,

    For I do not rely on him.
