مدحتُ مَعاشراً عُرَراً

حسبت بأنهم غررُ

I praised a group of people blindly

Thinking they were gems

فما رَفَدوا ولا وعدوا

ولا اعتلّوا ولا اعتذروا

But they did not repay or promise

Nor apologize or make excuses
