بأبي وأمّي أنتُمُ
من عصبةٍ يا آلَ مالكْ
By my father and mother, you are
A tribe, O descendants of Malik
ما للزمانِ يزفُّكم
في كلّ يومٍ للمهالكْ
What misfortune keeps throwing you
Each day into perils
أفناكُمُ ألّا تزا
لَ حُماتكم بين الشوابكْ
It destroyed you, had you not stood
As shields protecting your homes
ثبتتْ لكم أعراقُكُمْ
حتى ثويتم في المعاركْ
Your roots held firm
Until you withered in battle
بأبي وجوهُكُم التي
دَميتْ بأطراف السنابكْ
By my father, your faces that
Were bloodied by the tips of spears
ولقد تكونُ أهلَّةً
للناس في الظُّلَمِ الحوالكْ
You would have been pillars
For people in the darkest nights
أنُصابُ فيكمْ بالرَّدى
وتسدُّ دونكُمُ المسالكْ
But I lament your ruin
And paths to you are blocked
أمست سبيلُ مزاركم
ممنوعةً من كل سالكْ
The way to your graves
Is forbidden to all passersby
