God gave you victory over your enemies

Leaving them neither fang nor claw

Their necks were too weak to bear them, you overwhelmed them with severing

Your generosity would not have diminished had they come as guests

You made them fragments when they refused

To ask with the tongue of obedience for mercy

    Whoever left no nook unsearched

Tell him he will encounter a male serpent

Abu Harb strives in an impenetrable formation

Even if the father of a thousand spears charged he would be overwhelmed

And regards his hopes as trivial

Until he tries for the fertile horizon when he is infertile

Until Abu Al-Fayyad confronted him with two knives

Like a young camel that had touched no stump at its extremities

He did not cease to roar like a stallion in musth

Until you spilled his blood copiously with your two swords

Swiftly he came to collect them

He picked and when he saw the conquest at its limit

He turned and offered you his head seeking pardon

So may the conquest refresh you, its sides

Almost picking flowers from its midst

You were safe when you held fast to Islam

While he failed when he came as a Christian victor

Verily he who denies the Lord's bounty

And claims he is more deserving is like an infidel
