لقد طال ما أسهبَ الناسُ فيكَ

ففُقْتَهُمُ بالكلامِ الوجيزِ

Long have people been verbose with you

Yet you confound them with terse speech

إذا عارضتْكَ صُروفُ الزمانِ

ورُمْتَ امتناعاً بحرزٍ حريزِ

Whenever time's vicissitudes oppose you

And you refuse with an impregnable defense

فأعرِضْ عن الطِبِّ من آدمٍ

وعرِّض لها باسمِ عبدِ العزيزِ

Then turn away from Adam's offspring with grace

And turn to them in the name of Abdul Aziz
