1. صاحَبْتُ في سَفَرِي لك الآمالا

    فأَعدْتَنِي وأَعَدْتَها أَموالا

    I accompanied you on my journey with hopes

    You restored me and restored them into wealth

  2. وهتفتُ باسْمِكَ وهو فأْلٌ صادقٌ

    فَوَجَدْتُه في راحَتَيْك نَوالا

    And I invoked your name, an honest omen

    I found it in your comfort a gain

  3. ودعَوْتُ منكَ لدفعِ عُسْرِي ياسراً

    ولِدَفْعِ غُلَّتِي الحَرورِ بِلالا

    I sought from you to dispel my hardship, O Alleviator

    And to dispel my grievous affliction, O Consoler

  4. وعجِبْتُ للأَسماءِ كيف تصرَّفَتْ

    بغرائِبٍ من نَحْوِها أَفعالا

    And I was amazed at the names, how they were manifested

    In strange ways from their likeness, deeds

  5. وَأَمَا ووجْهِك إِنَّه الفَلَقُ الذي

    منذ اهتديْتُ به أَمِنْتُ ضَلالا

    As for your face, it is the dawn that

    Since I was guided by it, I was safe from misguidance

  6. لقد انتقصتُ إِلى شمائِلِكِ التي

    عَتُقَتْ وقلت على السَّفين شَمالا

    I moved towards your lofty attributes that

    Were set free, and I said the ship set sail northwards

  7. وسَرَيْتُ نحو عُلاك بدرًا كاملا

    حتى انثنيتُ من الضُّمورِ هِلالا

    And I walked towards your rising as a full moon

    Until I bent from fading away like a crescent

  8. فرفعتُ طَرْفِي للسَّماءِ رئاسةً

    بلْ أَنت أَسْمَى والنجومِ خِلالا

    So I raised my eyes to the sky in leadership

    But you are higher and the stars are within your grasp

  9. والشمس إِلا أَنَّ ضَوْءَكَ حاكِمٌ

    أَنْ لا يفارِقَ مُجْتَلِيه ظِلالا

    The sun, except that your light rules

    Not to abandon those it shines upon with shadows

  10. والشهْمُ مِثْلِي من يسيرُ مُهَجَّرًا

    ومهاجِرًا يَتَقَبَّلُ الأَقْيَالا

    One like me who travels distraught

    And migrating, bearing the burdens

  11. اللُّه أَكْبَرُ ما أَدَقَّ معانِياً

    وَقَفَتْ عليكَ وما أَجلَّ خِلالا

    God is Greatest - how subtle the meanings

    That stand before you and how majestic the traits

  12. خُذْ يا بَنَانُ فقد وَجَدْتَ مُساعِفاً

    قل يا لسانُ فقد وجدتَ مقالا

    Take, O skilled one, for you have found a promoter

    Say, O tongue, for you have found speech

  13. واضرِبْ عن الأَمثالِ بعد محاسِنٍ

    شاهَدْتُها واضْرِبْ بها الأَمثالا

    And talk of virtues after graces

    I witnessed, and make them parables

  14. الليثُ أَغلَبُ والحسامُ مُهنَّدًا

    والبدرُ أَزْهرُ والحَيَا هَطَّالا

    The lion overwhelms and the sword subdues

    The full moon glows and the snake coils

  15. حُلَلٌ رآكَ المَجْدُ أَظرفَ خاطرٍ

    فيها فأَفْرغَها عليك حَلالا

    States that glory saw you as the wittiest spirit

    So it poured upon you lawful gains

  16. وشمائِلٌ منها الشَّمُولُ لأَنَّهُ

    أَضحى يميناً شامِلي وشِمالا

    Attributes among which inclusiveness, for it

    Has become a right hand including me and a left

  17. فوقيتَ يا عَيْنَ الكمالِ ونفسَه

    عَيْنَ الكمالِ فقَدْ خُلِقْتَ كَمالا

    You surmounted, O eye of perfection, even perfection itself

    The eye of perfection, for you were created perfect

  18. مُلِئَتْ بكَ الدنيا اعتدالاً مثلَهُ

    عَدْلاً ولى أَمثالَهُ أَعْدَالا

    The world was filled with moderation like it

    Justice replaced its likenesses with fair ones

  19. وأَقَرَّ منك المُلْكَ في أَربابِهِ

    مَلِكٌ أَقَرَّ المُلْكَ لمَّا جالا

    And the King affirmed kingship among its lords

    A King who affirmed kingship when they marched

  20. واستخْدَمَ الثَّقَلَيْنِ طَوْعَ حُسامِه

    وهو الذي يتحمَّلُ الأَثقالا

    And summoned the two weighty things by the edge of his sword

    He who bears the heaviest of burdens

  21. وكأَنما عطف الزمانُ بكفِّه

    قوساً وسدَّد من بنيهِ نِبالا

    As if time bent its palm into a bow

    And aimed from its sons arrows

  22. أَرْسَى ولا الجبلَ الأَشَمَّ بحِنْكَةٍ

    منك الصدورَ وزَلْزَلَ الأَجبالا

    It settled and not even the mighty mountain with disdain

    Repelled it from your chests and made the mountains quake

  23. ورمى الحصونَ على الحِصانِ بفارسٍ

    إِنْ بارَزَ الأَبطالَ والأَبطالا

    And it shot the citadels atop the steed with a horseman

    If the champions and heroes competed

  24. ولقد تيقَّنَتِ المعاقِلُ أَنَّها

    دارَتْ على المُتَدَبِّرينَ عِقالا

    The fortresses were certain that they

    Would fail against the prudent

  25. حيثُ الخيولُ تجولُ تحتَ رِماحِها

    لتحولَ في أَوعارِها أَوعالا

    Where the horses roam under their spears

    To transform their limping into bounding

  26. والباتراتُ تطُولُ بينَ فوارسٍ

    خُلِقوا على صِفَةِ الرماحِ طِوالا

    And the tall ones on long mares

    Were created in the form of long spears

  27. تتناذَرُ الأَملاكُ مِيلَ قنيّهم

    ولَوِ اسْتَقَامتْ دونَهُمْ أَميالا

    The dynasties incline away from their hatred

    And if their inclinations persisted without them, they would be far more

  28. فلذا رسائِلُهُمْ إِليكَ لأَنَّهُمْ

    خافوا ابتعاثَكَ قَبْلَها الأَرْسالا

    So their messages to you are because they

    Feared your delegation before their own envoys

  29. يا مُلْتَقَى سُبُلِ الوفودِ ومَنْ له

    جُودٌ أَدامَ عليهِمُ الإِسْبالا

    O gathering place of messengers’ paths and he who

    Has generosity continues to send them gifts

  30. لا زالَ يستدعي نوالَكَ كلُّ مَنْ

    ما زالَ إِنْ سَمِع النَّوالَ نَوَى لا

    The appeal of your bestowal does not cease for all those

    Who do not cease to intend if they hear of bestowal

  31. حتَّى تَرَى الآباءَ والأَبناءَ وال

    إخوانَ والأَعمامَ والأَخوالا

    Until you see the fathers, sons and

    Brothers, uncles and in-laws

  32. ويقومَ فُلْكُ الداعِيَيْنِ وهَفْوَةٌ

    قولي يقومُ فإِنه ما مالا

    And the ship of the two callers is resurrected and an awakening

    My words resurrect, so it does not slip

  33. وترى ضِياءَ النَّيِّرَيْنِ كما تَرى

    يجلو الغُدُوَّ ويصْقُلُ الآصالا

    And you see the light of the two brilliances like

    The morning dispels the darkness and polishes the mornings

  34. بَدْرا سَماءِ المُلْكِ لا البدرُ الذي

    لَبِسَتْ أَهِلَّتُهُ الخيولَ نِعالا

    A full moon in the sky of the Kingdom, not that moon

    Whose crescent donned horseshoes

  35. ومُهَنَّدُ الإِسلامِ لا تلكَ التي

    داستْ صفائِحَها القُيونُ صِقالا

    And the sword of Islam, not those which

    The scabbards trampled with their sheaths

  36. العارِضانِ العارِضانِ من النَّدَى

    وَبْلاً يكونُ من النُّدوبِ وبَالا

    The two harvesting, harvesting the dew

    Really obtaining from the scars and afflictions

  37. يا مَنْ إِذا هَزَّ الذوابِلَ طَعْنُهُ

    في جِنْحِ ليلٍ يُسْتَعَاد ذُبَالا

    O you, when the shaking of his piercing spear

    In the wing of night regains the mounts

  38. واسْتَقْبَلا المُلْكَ السعيدَ بياسِرِ ال

    مُلْكِ السعيدِ فأَحْرَزَا الإِقبالا

    They welcomed the blessed reign with the right hand of

    The blessed reign, thus seizing the opportunity

  39. طابا وطالا والأُصولُ إِذا زكَتْ

    أَبْصَرْتَ فيها الفَرْعَ طابَ وطَالا

    Blessed and everlasting, and the originals when pure

    You see in them the branch blessed and everlasting

  40. إِنْ لم يَكُنْ فيها مُنًى فَبِها المُنَى

    لَمْ يَمْتنِعْ عن من يَرومُ مَنَالا

    If there is no rest in them, through them is rest

    Not prevented from one who seeks rest

  41. آلُ الزُّرَيْعِ ومَنْ لَهُمُ إِلاَّ العُلَى

    أَنْ لا يزالَ لهم كذلكَ آلا

    The family of Zurei’ and who but them has loftiness

    That will not cease to be for them thus, a family
