1. لم يُلْفَ للهون عاشقٌ جاحِدْ

    فخلِّ قولَ العذولِ والحاسِدْ

    No lover is blamed for falling madly in love

    So ignore the words of the blamer and envious

  2. وذِلَّ واخضعْ عسى الحبيبُ الى

    وصلِك من بعد هجرِه عائدْ

    Be humble, perhaps after his estrangement, the beloved

    Will unite with you

  3. ولا تقلْ نام طول ليلته

    وبتُّ في طول ليلتي ساهِدْ

    Don't say he slept all night long

    While I stayed awake all night long, upset

  4. فمذهبُ العاشقين ذاك فقدْ

    أضحى عليه كلامهم واحدْ

    For that is the way of lovers, their words

    Have become one

  5. لله ظبيٌ أغرُّ مختصَرُ ال

    خصْر غريرٌ عني غدا شارِدْ

    A young gazelle, with a delicate and short

    Neck, a fawn whose eyes have wandered

  6. قد صاد قلبي ولن ترى عجباً

    كنافرٍ في نِفاره صائد

    It captured my heart, it is no wonder

    That an unbeliever continues in his unbelief, like a hunter

  7. يا صاحبيّ اتركا ملامَكُما

    لا تزرَعا الشّرّ إنه فاسِدْ

    My friend, stop your blame

    Do not plant evil, for it is corrupt

  8. وكاعبٍ ناهدٍ وريحَ فتًى

    أصبح صبّاً بكاعبٍ ناهدْ

    Like a playing boy, a sleepy one, and the youthful breeze

    That has become morning drizzle playing with a sleepy one

  9. خُمْصانةٍ طَفلةٍ خدلّجةٍ

    سارتْ على ظهرِ بازلٍ واخدْ

    A young spirited girl with curly hair

    Walked on the back of a firm, one-humped camel

  10. أفقدَني الصبرَ بينُها وغدا

    شوقي لما ترحّلَتْ زائدْ

    Her parting made me lose patience, and my longing

    For her increased after she traveled

  11. من يحمَدُ الآن ذا الزمانَ فما

    أصبحت ممّنْ غدا له حامدْ

    Who can praise this time? It has become

    One where there are few who praise it

  12. لقد رماني بأسهُم تركَتْ

    قلبيَ حيرانَ قائماً قاعِدْ

    Its arrows have struck me, leaving

    My confused heart standing still

  13. فقرٌ يحاذي صبابةً أبداً

    وغربةٌ ما بلاؤها واحدْ

    Poverty that always competes with youth

    And estrangement whose afflictions are one

  14. لولا الإمام الأجلُّ يُدرِكُني

    بالعَذْبِ من بحر جودِه الباردْ

    If it were not for the most glorious Imam

    Who quenches my thirst with the cool water of his generosity

  15. متّ ولكنه تداركَني

    أكرِمْ به من مهذّب ماجدْ

    I would have died but he saved me

    Honor him, the refined and glorious one

  16. أبو العلا وابنها فلا عدِم ال

    مولودَ منها الزمانُ والوالدْ

    Abu Al-Ala and his son, may the days

    When he and his father lived not cease

  17. إن قال أوفى بما يقولُ ومَنْ

    عداه لو قال ماطلُ واعدْ

    If he makes a promise he fulfills it, and if

    Another person makes a promise, he breaks it and disappoints

  18. يذودُ عن عِرضِه وما هوَ عن

    لُهاهُ طولَ الزمان بالذّائدْ

    He protects his honor, and was never

    Distracted from doing so, for ages

  19. صفاءُ أعراضِه على كرمِ ال

    أخلاقِ أخلاقِه غَدا شاهدْ

    The purity of his character and noble manners

    Bare witness to this

  20. بحرُ نداه بحرٌ طمى فلذا

    لم يخْلُ من صادرٍ ومن واردْ

    His generosity is an ocean whose waves crash and so

    It never lacks one who takes or one who gives

  21. يُرى العِدى نحوَه بأجمعهم

    ذا راكعٌ تارةً وذا ساجدْ

    They are all seen bowing down before him

    Sometimes kneeling, sometimes prostrating

  22. من قاسَ وجهَ الإمام أحمدَ بال

    بدرِ فعندي قياسُه فاسِدْ

    Whoever compares the face of Imam Ahmed to a

    Full moon, I see his analogy as faulty

  23. البدر طوراً تراه ينقصُ وال

    حافظُ ما زال ضوؤهُ زائدْ

    The full moon wanes at times, while

    The Protector’s light always increases

  24. يا من عطاياهُ عند أجمعنا

    منها طريفٌ في إثْرِه تالِد

    O you whose gifts, all of us agree

    Some ancient and some recent

  25. جودُك أزرى بحاتمٍ وغدَتْ

    علياكَ ترمي ما قد بنى خالدْ

    Your generosity rivals Hatim’s and surpassed

    What Khaled ibn Al Waleed built

  26. أتاك فاهْنأْ به إذاً رجبٌ

    ولتَهْنِه أنت أيها الماجدْ

    So celebrate as Rajab has come to you

    O glorious one

  27. وهاك بكراً أتتك تخطِرُ في

    ثوبَيْ فخارٍ وسؤدُدٍ شائِدْ

    And the first born comes announcing in the garb

    Of happy tidings

  28. واسلَمْ ودُمْ في النعيمِ يا علَمَ الد

    هرِ حقيقاً وملجأَ القاصدْ

    Greet and live in bliss forever O flag of the days

    And destination of seekers

  29. لا زلتَ صِنوَ العُلا ومجتمَعَ ال

    فضلِ وغيظَ العدوّ والحاسدْ

    You still are the stronghold of supremacy, the place where

    Virtue gathers, and vexation of the enemy and envious
