يا أيها الحَبْرُ الإما
مُ ومن له قدْرٌ جليلُ
O learned ima—
—m, possessor of illustrious rank;
يا من يرى بذلَ الكثي
رِ كأنّه النَزْرُ القليلُ
O you who see abundant giv—
—ing as though it were a paltry little thing;
يا من له الفِعْلُ الجمي
لُ ومن له الوجهُ الجميلُ
O you whose conduct is beau—
—tiful, whose countenance too is beautiful;
لستُ العليلَ وإنما ال
علياءُ والمجدُ العليلُ
It is not I who am ailing; rather, loft—
—iness and glory are the ailing ones.
