أحسن منْ وصفِ ديارِ الطائفِ

ومن خليطٍ سارَ في مَتالِفِ

Better than describing the land of Taif

And from a blend that flowed in harmony

ومن كئيبٍ للطيورِ عائفٍ

مرْأى بديعِ هذه القطائفِ

And from a sorrowful one to the birds circling

Is the view of the beautiful motifs

كأنّها في عينِ كلِّ واصفِ

قد صُوِّرَتْ من أبيضِ المَناشِفِ

As if in the eye of every describer

It was pictured from the whitest towels

وحُشيَتْ حشوَ خبيرٍ عارفِ

وجادَها عارضُ حُلْوٍ واكِفِ

And stuffed with the stuffing of a knowledgeable connoisseur

And its prominent one is sweet and sufficient

أحلى من الأمانِ عندَ الخائفِ

قد قُدِّمَتْ لسادةٍ غَطارِفِ

Sweeter than safety for the fearful

It was presented to the generous masters

كلٌّ على السؤددِ جدُّ عاكفِ

قل لأبي العباسِ ذي المعارفِ

Each is focused on the best hospitality

Tell Abu Al-Abbas the one of knowledge

قد جئتَ بالنعماءِ في ترادُفِ

وجُدْتَ في القادمِ مثلَ السالفِ

You have come with blessings in succession

And you were found in the newcomer like the predecessor

لولاك يا مُحْيي فؤادي التالِفِ

ضيعتُ فيها تالِدي وطارِفي

If not for you, O reviver of my harmonious soul

I would have lost in it my bloom and finery
