1. يومٌ قضى لك بالحُبورِ

    ودوام عَيِشٍ في سرورِ

    A day has passed for you in felicity

    And an enduring life of joy

  2. أَضْحَتْ تُزَفُّ به الشُّمو

    سُ إِلى مقارَنَةِ البدورِ

    Your mornings are adorned with it

    Compared to the full moons

  3. فاهْنَأْ بِعُرْسٍ قد جَلَى الظ

    لماء عن إِشراقِ نُورِ

    So congratulate yourself on a wedding whose radiance

    Has unveiled the skies with the dawning of light

  4. واشْرَبْ هنيا كأَسَ را

    حِكَ فَهْي مِفْتاحُ السرورِ

    And drink happily a cup of your cheer

    For it is the key to joy

  5. أَو رَتِّلِ الإِنجيلَ مُعْ

    تَضِدًا بأَلحانِ الزَّبور

    Or chant the Gospel, leaning

    Against the melodies of the Psalms

  6. أَبناءُ عيسى سادةٌ

    أَو قادةٌ طُولَ الدُّهورِ

    The children of Jesus are lords

    Or leaders throughout the ages

  7. أَهلُ الدواوينِ الذي

    ن لهم نَفَاذٌ في الأُمورِ

    The people of authority who

    Have influence over affairs

  8. يَا ابْنَ الأَكارِمِ قد أَتَتْ

    كَ قصيدةٌ مثلُ الشُّذورِ

    O son of nobles, a poem has come to you

    Like sparks

  9. كالروضِ يعبَقُ بين ري

    سحانٍ ونسرينٍ وخِيري

    Like a garden scented with basil, narcissi, and citrons

    So spur on eagerly and proceed

  10. فاجرِ على عَجَلٍ ودُمْ

    حتى تهي رُكْنَا ثَبيرِ

    Until you reach the cornerstone

    Or else I will say

  11. أَوْ لا فَإِنِّي قائلٌ

    ما ليسَ يحمِلُهُ ضميري

    What my conscience does not carry

    If I am asked what I obtained

  12. إِن قيلَ لي ماذا لقي

    تَ من الكبيرِ بن الكبيرِ

    From the elder son of the elder

    I will say little but the like of it

  13. قلتُ القليلُ ومثله

    من رُحْتُ عنه بالكثيرِ

    I ignored in abundance
