I have no fear of Na'aman the gazelle hunter

Who wounds my heart however he may contrive

So much has he pierced my heart and brow

With his spears and sword from his quiver

I've hated him, loathing his affection

As generosity loathes the nature of Ibn 'Auf

I wish for his comfort as one who wishes

For the driving away of gadflies in summer's heat

Were it not for the salafist protector among us

We would not feel safe from any fear

A leader, if we ask him for greatness

Refuses to put us off with 'later'

The Nauruz has come, so delight in it

With honor intact, free from blemish or fraud
