قبّلتُه يوماً وقابلتُه

بخاطرٍ في مدحِه ذي خطَرْ

I kissed him one day and met him

With a mind praising him, so daring

فقال هذي دررٌ جمّةٌ

فقلت في ثغرِك هذي الدُررْ

He said "These are fine pearls"

I said "In your mouth are the pearls"
