1. Blessed with good fortune and auspicious steps is their homecoming, however far they had gone;

    they returned, having prospered both in journeying afar and in coming home.

  2. They circled the Kaaba’s Corners—pillars themselves of noble eminence

    and learning—and poured across the Hijaz like clouds.

  3. If they filled the stay-at-home’s sleeve with noble gifts,

    they also filled the sacred Station’s lap with reward.

  4. Blessed men, they encircled sublimity’s two flanks

    and a crown whose dignity towered above all heads.

  5. May they never be forsaken—luminaries of learning; you see them

    in a lofty firmament, companions of the stars.
