وقومٌ يخافون مسّ الهجاء

وقد سلكوا فيه طريق الغرَر

And a people who fear the touch of criticism

Though they have walked the path of deceit

يقولونُ لي لا تقع فيهُم

فقولوا لهم لا تكونوا حُفر

They say to me, "Do not fall upon them"

So say to them, "Do not be pits"
