للصاحبِ بن الصاحبِ الناصر من
دعاه رأيٌ في الصلاةِ الراتِبة
To al-Ṣāḥib, son of al-Ṣāḥib, al-Nāṣir—the man
my judgment acclaims for his abiding fortitude:
يمنح من قبلِ امْتداحِ مجدِه
جائزةً ثمَّ يراها واجبة
he bestows, before his glory is even praised,
a reward, then reckons it a debt he owes.
