شكى حزنها قومٌ وفضلك منشدٌ

إذا طلعت شمس النهار فسلّم

A people complained of her sorrow and your superiority is sought after

When the sun of day rises, so greet it

وما هي إلا طلعة قرشية

سيشتد من أخبارها كلّ مسلم

It is but a Qurayshi rising

Every Muslim will be intensified from its news

وأقسم لولا أنت تردع معشراً

تهون عليهم حالة المتألم

And I swear, if it weren't for you holding back a group

The state of the sufferer becomes easy for them

لما نال كفي منهمُ نصف درهم

بلى نال قلبي منهم نصف درهم

My palm would not get from them half a dirham

Rather, my heart would get from them half a dirham
