حوى فلكي عند الوزير وطالما

أزيحت بجدوى راحتيه عوائقي

The stars guided me to the minister, and often

my obstacles were removed through his kindness.

وقد كان قدري عنده متدرّجاً

وبيتي عميراً بالندى المتلاحق

My fate with him progressed gradually,

and my home became filled with abundant blessings.

فللدرج اللاتي حوت بتّ باكياً

وعائلتي تبكي لمنع الدقايق

So I wept for the stairs that held me weeping,

and my family cried at the loss of morsels.
