يا إماماً قال المقلد والعا
لم فيه بواجبِ التفضيل
O Imam, the conformist and the scholar said
No obligation of preference is upon him
ما على عاشقٍ يقول على حك
مِ التداوي بالضمّ والتقبيل
Not like a lover who pronounces as a rule
Healing through embracing and kissing
لا كمن تنتحي بمعشوقِهِ النح
و فمن فاعلٍ ومن مفعول
Unlike one who sighs for his beloved, the sigh
Is it from a doer or from one done to
