تجلَّدت كتب التاريخ ثمَّ شكت

من خجلة خير تاريخٍ لخير وَلي

The books of history were bound, then complained

Of the shame from the best history of the best saint

تكادُ إن نظرتْ هذي المحاسن أن

تموت في جلدِها من شدَّة الخجل
