تهنى مدى الأيام بالخلعِ التي

وجدنا بها الأيام واضحة الأنس

The days are delighted by the robes

In which we found the days clearly intimate.

أضاء بها وجه الزَّمان وأهلهُ

ولم أرَ من أطواقها مطلع الشمس

The face of time and its people shone through them,

Yet from its horizons I did not see the rising sun.
