يا حبَّذا يومي بوادِي جلّقٍ

وفرجتي مع الغزال الحالي

O what a fine day in the valley of Jallaq

My delight with the present gazelle

من أول الجبهة قد قبَّلته

مرتشفاً لآخر الخلخال

From the top of its forehead, I kissed it

Sipping to the end of its anklet
