عرج على حرم المحبوب منتصباً

لقبلة الحسن واعْذرني على سهري

I climbed to the sanctuary of the beloved upright

To kiss the cheek. Forgive me for my vigil,

وانْظر إلى الخال فوق الثغر دون لمىً

تجد بلالاً يراعي الصبح في السحر

And look at the mole above the lip without blame -

You will find dewdrops herding the dawn at daybreak.
