وقنّع الصبّ بالقليل

بسيط بحر الندى مديد

كامل بحر الثنا طويل

The Nile's simple, boundless sea

Full, the sea of glory is long

رجايَ في برِّه سمين

كالفيل لا كالرجا النحيل

My hope in its goodness is rich

Strong as an elephant, not weak as a gazelle

يضمن لي رفده المهنا

يا لكَ من ضامنٍ كفيل

Its flow guarantees my provision

What a surety, what a guarantor it is!
