    After the prolonging of days,

my heart has become in the place of my mold in Damascus

If I die of sorrow, then my sons have

died in their Damascus from execution

O you two ministers, you two are the ones

Who do not have mercy on me, but have mercy on my orphans

Who will carry them on my eyes, for I have

No way to carry them on my feet

So your compulsion to my heart will be their compulsion

For they are, in every way, my bones

O protection for widows and youths

You have remained the protection of Islam

I swear by your glory and gifts

I would have neither a past nor a future
