لما رأى الظبي طرف حبِّي
شكا إلى الحسنِ واستعاذا
When the deer saw my beloved's glance,
He complained to Al-Hasan and sought refuge,
وقال جفنٌ لم سقيمٌ
يا ليتني مت قبل هذا
And said, "An ailing eyelid
Oh, would that I had died before this!"
